HRMI 2021: David Collings, Professor of Human Resource Management, Dublin City University

Collings is professor of Human Resource Management at Dublin City University Business School where he is director of the Leadership and Talent Institute. He previously held faculty positions at the University of Sheffield and National University of Ireland, Galway. A former Fulbright Scholar, he has held visiting positions at Cornell University, King’s College London, and Nanyang Business School in Singapore.

He is a leading international expert on talent management, global mobility, and the future of work. Recent research projects include studies of the CHRO role in the response to the COVID-19 pandemic; retaining high-potential female employees after maternity leave; and the role of L&D in enabling the workforce of the future. A regular keynote speaker on four continents, he consults with leading international organisations, SMEs and government departments.  His research has appeared in leading outlets including Harvard Business Review and MIT Sloan Management Review and he has published 12 books. He is a regular media commentator and is regularly cited in outlets including the Wall Street Journal, Forbes and the BBC.
