Carter is a member of the GKN executive committee and the committee sponsor for the diversity & inclusive initiative, and drives all aspects of people excellence at GKN.
Having previously worked for Akzo Nobel, Carter held the position of HR director specialty chemicals and corporate functions, based in the Netherlands, she also held the position of HR director functional chemicals, again based in the Netherlands. She moved there in 2009 from Singapore, where she was HR director paints Asia Pacific from 2007.
Prior to this, Carter worked for Imperial Chemicals Industries in London from 2005. Her early career was spent in HR management and learning and development with the Comet Group and LEGOLAND in the UK.
Carter graduated from the University of Luton with an Honours Degree in business and psychology, and has a post-graduate HR qualification from the University of East Anglia.
