Matt Elliott, chief people officer, Bank of Ireland

?Matt Elliott joined the Bank of Ireland in early 2019 as a member of the executive team delivering a strategic plan to transform the business

Previously Elliott was people director at Virgin Money, where for eight years he led the HR work to acquire and integrate Northern Rock and successfully build the company, including a successful FTSE listing in 2014.

Elliott has received recognition through numerous awards for innovative work in human resources, including HR Network Scotland’s ‘HR Director of the Year’ in 2014, and most recently winning the award for Diversity & Inclusion at the 2018 Personnel Today Awards.

Recognising his commitment to creating a fair and inclusive workplace, he was named a Financial Times Top 50 LGBT ally for three consecutive years, Top 20 ‘Champion of Women in Business’ in 2017, EMpower’s Top 15 ethnic minority allies in 2018, and Management Today ‘Agent of Change’ 2018.
