Julia Ingall, group HR and talent management director, Ogilvy and Mather Group

?Ingall is responsible for the EMEA region, overseeing HR and talent management across 35 countries, 44 cities and 7,500 people

Ingall's role focuses on finding, growing and keeping the very best talent to make Ogilvy’s clients a success. She is passionate about making sure Ogilvy’s talent are the very best they can be and help the business to live its values of curious, courageous and generous both internally and for clients.

In partnership with her team, she has been driving the youth talent agenda at Ogilvy and its role in diversity and inclusion, together with a continued desire to deliver health and wellbeing. Ingall feels that a healthy dose of reality, a sense of humour, and simplicity are crucial to the role of HR and engagement in the business.

She is passionate about sharing the talent agenda with the people themselves, and involves them in co-designing the employee journey. She has dispensed with the annual ratings-related performance review for a more face-to-face, ongoing conversation. There has even been discussion of a more democratised approach to succession planning.

Ingall began her career in HR more than 20 years ago at Virgin Atlantic and has since led both generalist and specialist L&D, reward and recruitment teams in the UK and internationally across branding and design, leisure, retail, tech, e-commerce and the media sectors, including businesses such as MTV, Betfair and Uniqlo.

She is a fellow of the CIPD, a trained executive coach, on the judging panel for the Marketing Academy’s fellowship programme, alumni of the HR in the Boardroom programme, and a member of the WPPStella steering committee (WPP’s Female Leadership Networking Forum).
