Starting her early career in the retail sector, Janet King moved to the civil service and subsequently spent two years with the National Economic Development Office. She then moved to West Surrey and North East Hampshire Health Authority.
She became director of HR at Frimley Park Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in 1991. Today her portfolio includes HR, facilities, capital developments, company secretariat, media and communications. In 2016 King and the HR team were awarded the Overall winner award at the CIPD People Management awards.
King sits on a number of national committees and is a lay panel member for employment tribunals.
