He is chairman of Hexagon Housing and on the board of Powerful Women.
His latest book is The Power of Difference: where the complexities of diversity and inclusion meet practical solutions, published by Kogan Page on 3rd December in the UK and 28th in the US.
He was awarded the OBE in 2013 and in the same year an honorary doctorate from Sussex University.
He lives in Brighton with his husband, and they have neither children nor dogs.
When not celebrating difference, he is cooking.
