HRMI 2021: Patricia Ashworth, Learning Director, Adviser Plus

Ashworth joined AdviserPlus in 2007 from the Co-operative Bank where she was head of management development.

She was appointed director of AdviserPlus Learning Solutions in 2012, with responsibility for implementing a commercial business model that delivers a high-quality learning portfolio to multi-sector clients. Ashworth leads the delivery of products, including leadership training, capability development, employee relations, and mental health and wellbeing. As an ambassador for the mental health agenda, she has influenced the HR strategies of businesses across the UK.

Ashworth is a member of the Government’s Professional Advisers Group, helping to ensure that their flagship ‘Disability Confident scheme’ is robust and sufficiently challenging, whilst helping to shape future policy around disability-employment across the UK. She features in Disability Confident’s promotional material, influencing other businesses to join the scheme, and in collaboration with the Minister of State for Disabled People, Health and Work, she is a dynamic keynote speaker at national disability events.    

Ashworth graduated in History and English and has a Post Graduate Diploma in Strategic Human Resource Management. During her career at Co-operative Insurance, she initiated a ground-breaking ‘Recruitment that Works’ programme to support disabled people into work and off long-term benefits.
