Giovanni Giordano, former group HR director, BAT

Giovanni Giordano joined the management board of British American Tobacco (BAT) in June 2011

Giordano started his career in Procter & Gamble (P&G) where he worked for 18 years in a variety of HR roles around the world. He also contributed to integrating P&G's largest acquisitions such as Wella and Gillette.

He joined BAT from Ferrero International, where he was chief corporate officer leading global HR, legal and IT.

At BAT Giordano leads the HR team and the human capital agenda through the most dynamic period of change that the industry has ever encountered.

Outstanding talent, diverse teams and an engaging, productive work environment are essential to drive BAT’s ambition to 'transform tobacco' and provide consumers with potentially reduced-risk tobacco and nicotine choices. The acquisition of Reynolds American Inc. in July 2017, which has transformed both the scale and geographic reach of the BAT business, positions BAT perfectly to capitalise on this ambition.
