Gifford Tanser, head of corporate organisational development, Boehringer Ingelheim

Gifford Tanser is responsible for creating and developing Boehringer Ingelheim’s global organisational development capability.

Gifford Tanser has worked in the engineering, hi-tech and pharmaceutical sectors across a broad spectrum of human resource roles with large multinationals, and has extensive European and global experience operating within change environments, ranging from acquisitions and joint ventures to market places undergoing significant turmoil. He joined Boehringer Ingelheim as HR director for the UK and Ireland in 2007 and initiated a systemic business and culture change programme in response to changing healthcare markets.

His role focuses on developing HR and leaders' organisational development capability in order to shift the organisation's culture. Tanser has a strong desire to create a European community of OD practice that will lead to a network and is on the board of ODN Europe, the European chapter of the Organization Development Network, an international professional association of organisation development practitioners.

Boehringer Ingelheim is a privately held German pharmaceutical company of 46,000 employees and circa Euro 13 billion turnover.
