WIN free healthcare for an employee with HR and HSF Health Plan

HR magazine has teamed up with HSF Health Plan to find an inspirational worker who has overcome an illness and returned to work.

To tie in with our feature on helping employees with long-term sickness back into the workplace (p36, HR October), we want to hear from organisations that have taken an active approach to accommodating staff members who have overcome major health setbacks - and from employees who have dealt with, or are dealing with, serious illness and returned to work.

You may be fighting cancer, had a stroke or heart attack or struggled through mental illness. If you would like to share your story and inspire other employees, as well as help to persuade businesses to do more to encourage people with long-term sickness return to work, please enter our competition.

With skills shortages so high on the HR agenda, coupled with an ageing workforce, the need to retain talent has never been more vital. Working practices such as flexible hours, rehabilitation support and occupational health all help long-term absentees back to work.

To enter, please provide no more than 800 words outlining your story and how the organisation has supported you. The winner will receive two years' free membership of HSF Health Plan's Scheme A, which normally costs £35 a month. The winner and HR director will also be profiled in the publication, and there will be a handover of the prize, together with photoshoot.

A runner-up will receive a prize of one year on the same scheme. Both prizes cover partners and dependants.

HSF health plans contribute towards many health costs that are part of everyday life, including dental and optical treatment; chiropractic, acupuncture and homoeopathy therapies; specialist consultations; personal injury and grants to help with the cost of nights spent in hospital.

Send your entries to health@hrmagazine.co.uk. Closing date: 1 December.
