Persistent yawning at work doesn't help an employee's promotion prospects

One in 10 managers would overlook an employee for promotion if they persistently yawn or come to work looking tired, new research has revealed.

The findings from night cramp treatment firm Crapex finds a quarter would tell off tired looking staff or bring the issue up at appraisal - but 77% of Brits can't help yawning as they feel exhausted throughout the working day.

A tenth of respondents admit to being so tired at work they have pretended to feel sick in order to go home to bed, 14% arrive at work looking scruffy and unwashed as they are so tired and 50% crave coffee to get them through the day.

More than one in 10 members of staff (11%) have had to nap at work and 4% have dozed off during a meeting.

Two thirds lose concentration at work due to tiredness and 46% admit they are less productive when tired - one in 20 have injured themselves at work due to fatigue.
