The research, which polled 500 middle managers, reveals despite the threat of the looming ‘double dip’ recession, one in six (17%) London managers admit to spending more than £500 a month on gambling.
Women are visiting casinos almost as frequently as men with one in five (20%) female managers visiting a casino once a month or more as opposed to their male colleagues (25%). Female professionals are also happier to spend more with nearly a fifth (17%) of women spending at least £500 per month on gambling, compared to that of men (16%).
London’s youngest professionals are frequenting casinos and spending the most, suggesting that visiting casinos is still seen as a stylish experience. One in two 18-24 year-olds visit a casino at least once every two months spending £421 per month on gambling – almost seven times more than those aged 55+ who only spend £61 on gambling per month.

It’s interesting to see women taking the lead by frequenting casinos almost as much as men and even spending more money. But the £500 a month being spent by one in six London managers raises alarming questions about how healthy gambling habits in the capital are.”
