New technical training centre for Jaguar Land Rover

Jaguar Land Rover has launched a technical academy for technicians and apprentices.

The academy in Warwick will co-ordinate and conduct all products and systems training for technical staff. Jaguar Land Rover has operated an apprenticeship scheme for the past 10 years, training over 1,000 members of staff.

The new centre brings together facilities previously at sites in Gaydon and Castle Bromwich and has a 60 square-metre workshop and training zone. The facility will also have 16 classrooms - four of which can accommodate vehicles.

Adrian Birch, manager of the academy, said: "Jaguar and Land Rover have excellent reputations in the development of young people and this centre of excellence is a further step in demonstrating our long-term commitment to supporting and promoting engineering as a modern and exciting industry."
