The platform offers pharmacy graduates an insight into life at Lloydspharmacy, the format of the pre-registration scheme, as well as details of the career progression possibilities, secondment opportunities abroad, support for continuing professional development and details of the benefits available. It includes video interviews with former participants of the scheme and trainers.
Barbara Sutherland, head of capability at Lloydspharmacy, said: "The aim is to help pharmacy graduates understand a little more about the exciting changes afoot in the community pharmacy sector, directly from people working in this field and what support and help they can expect from our scheme.
"We are passionate about giving our pre-registration trainee pharmacists the skills they need to be not only a great pharmacist, but also the management skills that will help move their career on. And because we believe in our pharmacists being a part of their local community, it is important that graduates understand the scheme as much as possible before they apply, so they know what to expect and can be sure it's right for them."
The Lloydspharmacy pre-registration programme is designed to fit with the General Pharmaceutical Council's requirements, and offers graduates practical, pharmacy-based training as well as off-the-job development days to help improve understanding of professional and commercial topics.
As well as developing the required clinical skills, pre-registration trainee pharmacists also attend Lloydspharmacy's foundation management programme, which helps develop the core management skills fundamental to managing any pharmacy. Applications for the 2012 Lloydspharmacy pre-registration scheme close on 30 April 2011. Successful applicants will start at one of over 1,650 Lloydspharmacy stores in July.
