FDM to recruit 500 graduates

IT services provider, FDM Group, has doubled its recruitment targets for 2010 and will recruit 500 graduates in a bid to become the UK's largest IT graduate employer.

With 983 IT consultants, has increased its graduate intake to 500 this year, up from 245 in 2009, creating more opportunities for students concerned about securing a job in the poor recruitment market.

According to FDM, in the UK this is 2.5 times more than IBM, 25 times more than Microsoft, and 200 more graduates than Accenture.

FDM’s hopes its training Academy will transform graduates into professional IT consultants, who can progress to service some of FDM’s 200 blue-chip clients, which include HSBC, BSkyB, Detica and Credit Suisse.

Rod Flavell, CEO, said: "FDM experienced a year of growth and achievement in 2009, acquiring over 20 new clients, six prestigious awards and 245 trainees. This set us in good stead for 2010, which is proving to be another record year."
