Tesco to take on more graduates in September under newly created schemes

Tesco is set to increase its graduate intake in September to support business growth with a new talent pipeline.

The retailer currently offers places on 17 different schemes for UK graduates. Alongside schemes from store management and Tesco.com to property and merchandising, Tesco has also created additional schemes for graduates entering in September, including a new scheme in Tesco Telecoms and Environmental Engineering.

Applications for schemes with entry this September closed in December 2009 and surpassed demand with exceptional numbers of graduates submitting applications. However, Tesco also runs a continuous recruitment cycle for schemes in its commercial division including buying and merchandising with places still available for students graduating this month.

Hayley Tatum, UK operations personnel director at Tesco, said: "As the business grows, Tesco remains committed to graduate recruitment and to finding talent of the future. As more and more graduates join a pool of university leavers who are still yet to land their first job, we are actually increasing our graduate intake for schemes starting this September and continue to operate a rolling programme for some of our graduate schemes throughout the year."

Applications for Tesco’s 2011 entry schemes open this September.
