Holbeche is leaving the organisation at the end of June to focus on a career in writing and portfolio work.
Her departure comes only weeks after the CIPD announced it is to make 40 redundancies (12% of its work force) as a cost cutting exercise.
Holbeche has been in her current role since 2007, prior to which she was director of leadership and consultancy at The Work Foundation and also worked as director of research and strategy at Roffey Park Management Institute and management development manager for American Express.
