Events and marketing agency creates HR department for growth strategy

Manchester-based live events and marketing agency, WRG has created an HR department and appointed its first HR manager, Sharon Russell (pictured) as part of a growth strategy.

Russell joins the agency after six years at advertising agency TBWA\Manchester, in a move which will see the development of a brand new internal human resource function, committed to solidifying the creative, ethical and cultural employee structure within WRG; highlighting the company's commitment to growth and investment through people.

The new role will enable Russell to help drive the company forward as part of its rapid growth strategy - constantly recruiting and retaining the best talent in the industry, across all of WRG's core disciplines - creative design, film, digital media, full-scale logistics and technical management.

Russell said: "Along with WRG's excellent professional reputation, the development and management of the HR structure for WRG's Worldwide business was the driving reason for me to join the company. I am truly excited to be able to be involved in the creation of a human resources strategy which reflects the agency's commitment to creativity and growth through its people."

Russell's appointment marks the first formal HR function for the company, lending her sector expertise to create employee guidelines and policies as well as implementing training schemes and managing benefits, working to lay the cultural, social, ethical and creative foundations for WRG's internal HR operation.

As well as developing the policy and procedures for WRGs existing employees, Russell will oversee recruitment for all worldwide offices. As WRG continues grow rapidly Russell is currently looking for suitable candidates to fill the following roles; head of sales and marketing, senior live event producers and logistics project director.
