BBC goes for engagement for London 2012 with new HR appointment

The BBC is focusing on talent and engagement in preparation for its coverage of the major events planned for 2012 including the Olympics and Diamond Jubilee.

The broadcaster has appointed Daniell Morrisey to the new role of talent and engagement manager with BBC London 2012, the team responsible for coordinating the BBC's coverage for the events.

Morrisey, former BBC Vision Productions talent executive, will be responsible for developing an employee and community engagement strategy as well as attracting the best talent, including building on the BBC’s apprentice scheme.

"People are at the heart of delivering the creative ambitions of BBC London 2012. Culminating in the Olympic Games, 2012 will be a year like no other," said Morrisey.

He will work with skills and HR director London 2012, Caroline Prendergast, and will support the central team responsible for the strategy and planning of the BBC’s coverage.
