Appointment of two zombies and a witch improve employment statistics

As the recession forces jobseekers to apply for positions they wouldn't normally consider, HR magazine can report two zombies and a witch joined the workforce this week.

The London Dungeon has recruited two new zombies to embark on a £30,000 per year career of scaring visitors.

Approximately 60 applicants arrived yesterday at the London attraction in the hope of landing the job. Louie McKenna and Jeremiah Barnes were selected as the two best suited to take on the role of the undead, after the London Dungeon launched a recruitment campaign asking for ‘zombies - dead or alive'.

More than 200 people applied, encouraging The London Dungeon to hold open auditions to pick the right zombies for the job.

Yesterday, estate agent Carole Bonahan was appointed the new Witch of Wookey Hole, beating more than 300 applicants - some who had queued since 5am - to the post, at the visitor attraction near Wells.
