As part of Abbey's talent management strategy, four executives from the bank will act as mentors for four chief executives from Age Concern branches across London over the course of 2009.
The programme will allow staff to share ideas during one-to-one and group mentoring sessions.
Caroline Curtis, head of talent management at Abbey, said: "For our executives this is a brilliant opportunity to develop and improve the key leadership skill of mentoring and so enhance self-awareness through personal coaching, thus underpinning our commitment to developing individuals with potential."
And Sam Mauger, chief executive of Age Concern London, added: "This is a fantastic opportunity for both parties to spend time with each other to improve awareness of how successful organisations working in different sectors operate."
