Maddox (pictured) joins from National Express Group, which operates in the UK, Spain and North America. She started in 1998 as an HR officer and progressed over a 14-year career with the company to head of HR.
At UK Mail, she will be responsible for implementing methods of attracting and retaining people and there will be projects to develop a people agenda, such as applicant attraction, linking to an employer of choice, staff engagement, and growing morale.
A review will be done of the training and development function to ensure it matches the business's needs.
