Halton, who has appeared in HR's Most Influential ranking and achieved three HR Excellence Awards with his team, has taken up the post of chief people officer and become a member of the college's governing board.
He was previously global chief people officer at DLA Piper, the fifth largest law firm in the country with more than 3,700 lawyers in 25 countries and an average annual intake of 80 trainees a year in the UK. "The future of the profession depends on the next generation of lawyers and we need to ensure they are equipped with the relevant skills to contribute effectively to the organisations which they join," he said.
