Sarah Morris, Chief people officer, Aviva

Sarah joined Aviva in August 2015 as chief people officer.

She is responsible for the leadership of Aviva’s People, Internal and External Communications and Transformation strategy and a key member of the group executive leadership team. She is an experienced leader with significant international experience of driving change and business transformation gained across multiple sectors, in a range of industries, countries and cultures. She is now leading the cultural shift at Aviva and transforming it into a digital-first business.

Morrris is recognised as an advocate for inclusive diversity in the workplace, supporting initiatives such as OUTstanding, EMpower and HERoes to create a more inclusive working environment for LGBT+, ethnic minority and female colleagues. She was instrumental in ensuring support of the recommendations of the Women in Finance review into gender diversity and was also responsible for introducing equal parental leave for Aviva colleagues across the world.

Morris is a non-executive director (NED) on the Aviva Investors Board, a member of the 30% Club steering committee, which campaigns for gender balance in business and of HRH Countess of Wessex Women in Business Forum.

She joined Aviva from US data and technology specialists Thomson Reuters. Prior to that she held a number of roles at BP, RSA insurance and Dixons Carphone retailing.
