Neil Foulger, managing director, HR, Liberty Global Group

Neil Foulger was the HR lead in the acquisition of Virgin Media by Liberty Global in 2013. Denver-based Liberty Global is now the largest international cable company with operations in 14 countries and 36,000 employees.

Neil Foulger has worked in Liberty Global for over 10 years covering a number of HR roles, most recently as managing director, HR with responsibility for global compensation & benefits and HR technology. He was responsible for the HR aspects of the recent Virgin Media acquisition and led the cross-functional compensation and policy stream in the integration phase.

Since joining Liberty Global, Foulger has worked with Amy Blair, SVP Global HR, to deliver market-leading compensation programmes across the world including several effective equity-based incentives. He introduced streamlined performance and pay processes through on-line self-service, significantly shortening cycle times and giving managers more decision-making control. Recently he has overseen the transition to cloud-based global HR systems introducing talent discovery and performance management.

Foulger joined Liberty Global from Citigroup where he was director, compensation & benefits. Previously he has held HR, sales and manufacturing management positions at British Telecom and Xerox.

Foulger has a degree in physics and laser physics from the University of Wales, Swansea and is a member of the Chartered Management Institute and the Institute of Physics. He is a founder member of the Performance & Reward Centre (PARC), the UK’s lead body for reward practitioners.
