HRMI 2021: Hayley Lewis, Founder, Halo Psychology

Lewis is an award-winning psychologist with more than 20 years’ experience in the field of organisational and business psychology. She started her consultancy, HALO Psychology, in 2016 and her specific area of expertise is leadership and management behaviour and how this affects culture and performance.

Lewis is also a lecturer on postgraduate programmes at several UK universities. Her specialist topics are organisational culture change and leadership. She also leads a weekend school, for MSc students at Kingston Business School, where she teaches about leadership in the 21st century, creativity and innovation, consultancy skills and leading change. Lewis has recently completed her doctoral thesis at Birkbeck, University of London where she researched the psychological factors that help female entrepreneurs succeed.

Before starting her own business, she spent more than a decade in local government, during which time, she won national recognition for her work on leadership development and culture change. Prior to this, Lewis worked at the BBC where she was an organisational psychologist, supporting leadership development and executive assessment.

Lewis believes in making psychology more accessible and regularly shares practical evidence-based tools and tips via social media. She has become known for her sketch notes which have gained popularity, often going viral.
