HRMI 2021: Claire Gore, Director of HR and OD, London North West Healthcare

Gore was appointed as director of HR and OD at London North West University Healthcare Trust in March 2015, joining from The Hillingdon Hospitals Foundation Trust where she was director of people.

Gore is responsible for developing and delivering the People and the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion strategies which set out the vision and road map to ensure that the Trust has an inclusive culture with an engaged skilled workforce to deliver high quality patient care. She provides leadership on the full range of people issues including culture, workforce transformation, capability, inclusion, capacity, leadership, OD, education and training, Occupational Health and health and well-being.

Gore led the workforce response to the COVID 19 pandemic in a Trust that was particularly impacted due the demographics of the local community and the workforce (67% of the 8,000 staff are from black, Asian, and minority ethnic communities). This included upskilling and redeploying the workforce to work in an ITU that quadrupled in size, being the lead for the vaccine programme together with providing a range of health and well-being initiatives to support the diverse workforce.

Gore began her career in the Metropolitan Police Service where she held a range of roles. She is an accredited mediator and a trustee of a charity.
