Across the group Kavanagh oversees the people strategy for more than 28,000 colleagues, who operate from more than 2,000 branches, stores and sites nationwide for brands such as Travis Perkins, Wickes, Toolstation, City Plumbing and Benchmarx.
Kavanagh is a member of the group’s executive committee and in addition to HR is responsible for the corporate communications and safety functions as well as the Tile Giant business unit.
Prior to joining Travis Perkins Kavanagh was HR director at Argos and group HRD for Storehouse (now Mothercare). She has also held senior HR roles at Ladbrokes and Safeway (now Morrisons).
A graduate of Manchester University, and an adviser for British Swimming, she is an active swimmer herself. Kavanagh is also a non-executive director of Verona Stone, and has previously held a non-executive director role at Leeds Building Society.
