Althea Loderick has been promoted from HR and transformation officer to chief operating officer at Waltham Forest Council. She was ranked 11th in the HR Most Influential practitioner list in 2013.
The local authority is changing its operating model and the COO role has been created as part of that to sharpen the focus on service delivery and the corporate functions. As a member of the strategic management board, Loderick will be responsible for a range of council services, including those previously within the remit of the director of HR and transformation.
"I am delighted to have secured this role as it gives me an opportunity to lead the provision of high-quality corporate and customer services," Loderick said. "Later on this year, it is likely that the role will expand even further to take in additional services."
