SSP UK launches apprenticeship scheme to attract new talent

Food travel company SSP UK has joined forces with a careers initiative in a bid to attract new talent into its business.

The charity, Springboard, provides careers information, advice and guidance, as well as a suite of effective 'Into Work' programmes that reach and influence potential recruits. As well as building SSP UK's reputation as a preferred employer, the new partnership aims to tap into a younger base of potential recruits by developing proactive and effective links with schools, colleges, universities, job centres and other networks.

The SSP UK apprenticeship programme is a Level 2 and Level 3 qualification in Food & Drink Service and is designed to develop and grow the skills and knowledge our colleagues have gained so far and to help unleash their potential. It is about ensuring that they put into practice what they have learnt and is aimed at helping them find out more about themselves, what talents they have and what skills they need to develop to be successful within a career in hospitality.

Julie Holdaway, HR Ddrector for SSP UK, said: "This partnership is perfect for SSP as we are constantly striving to attract the best candidates in the industry. Getting into schools and colleges and chatting to students about the opportunities we can offer with the apprenticeship scheme in place will no doubt encourage a new wave of talent into the business."
