RBS launches careers portal across its brands

The Royal Bank of Scotland Group has launched a new careers portal that embraces the latest technology for online recruitment, whilst bringing together the recruitment of over 30 of its brands including RBS, Coutts and NatWest, across several markets.

The candidate experience, uses ‘matchmaking’ technology similar to that used by leading dating and retail sites, to intelligently suggest cross brand opportunities to those less sure of what role they are best suited to. Tools and functionality are provided to help a candidate search, find, make comparisons, create short-lists and ultimately make decisions. Alternatively, experienced candidates can efficiently find exact roles of interest.

The online recruiting experience will enable RBS to capture data from all quality candidate enquiries and  allow in house recruiters to search through the database for candidates to match to current vacancies, thereby reducing  dependence on third party recruitment agencies and offering a more personal and informed service. The new portal will also achieve significant cost savings for the Group through consolidating over 40 siloed recruitment sites, now all under one roof and available to view at www.jobs.rbs.com.

The site, www.jobs.rbs.com focuses on RBS’s new Employer Brand proposition, Where Can We Take You; showcasing real employees talking about their role. Thus, illustrating how RBS thinks differently, respects the individual and is as interested in the person as well as their potential to perform within their job function.  To develop the creative approach, over 170 casting sessions  took place with current employees in the UK, India and the US from which a series of online recruitment adverts and web films have been created.

Susan Bor, director, group resourcing said: "As the sector begins to strengthen and looks to the future, it is vital that we do all we can to attract and guide new talent into the industry. It is a very exciting time to be working in the banking sector.
The profiling on our new careers portal is best in class digital technology and supports candidates in finding the right role rather than leaving them to search alone, whilst ensuring all options are presented to them.  Anyone considering a job in the financial sector should look at our new site.

The launch of the new portal is an important element of our digital recruitment strategy designed to reduce reliance on third party recruitment agency services, which will improve service and vastly reduce cost. "
