Which of your previous jobs has had the most impact on your current role?


My previous consulting roles at Microsoft prepared me for my current role and Ive had support from some stunning names who have influenced the way I do business.


What are the key skills you need to succeed in your current role?


Ability to focus on the future, demonstrate strategic thinking and leadership, continuously develop my coaching and mentoring skills, and to be energetic in the drive for results.


What do you enjoy most about your job?


I love learning and I get the opportunity to do that every day. I can play to my natural strengths at Microsoft and I am encouraged to make a positive contribution to the business.


What do you enjoy least about your job?


Occasionally, there is a need for routine and structure.


What has been your greatest achievement in work?


Changing the business mind-set from one of training and development to one of learning and development, which also led to the creation of an organisational development team.


Who has been the greatest influence on your work?


Steve Harvey, Microsofts people, profit and loyalty director; and my grandfather, an entrepreneur and highly successful farmer.


How big a part does human resources play in your company?


It is a valued business partner and plays a significant role.


What is the most important contribution that HR makes to business?


It ensures we hire great talent, put the talent into great jobs with great managers to ensure we deliver todays and tomorrows business results.


Which business person do you admire most?


Steve Ballmer he is an incredibly charismatic leader with such amazing energy that you cant help but be ignited by it.
