Hastings Direct poised to create 200 new jobs

Hastings Direct, the insurance retailer is set to create 200 new jobs for 2012.

In 2011 Hastings grew by 30%, creating 400 new jobs. The company is now looking to recruit across the jobs spectrum from entry level to senior management.

The expansion is being driven by continued business growth from its car, home, van and bike insurance products. In 2011 a customer took out a policy with Hastings every 41 seconds and the company is committed to protecting one in 10 of the UK population by 2020.

The new jobs are full-time equivalents and for entry level roles the company would be happy to consider job share or part time mums, dads or students, wishing to earn extra income across the shifts, which include evenings and weekends. All applicants must be aged over 18.

Amanda Menahem (pictured), HR director at Hastings Direct, said: "We are a UK success story and a great place to work. This year we have enjoyed formal recognition for our people strategy as well as winning awards for our business development and anti-fraud work. As our business expands, we need to fill roles in all areas from finance to facilities, IT, marketing and our call centres.

"We are committed to growing our people and continue to invest heavily in staff development; we have doubled our leadership and development programme and will create college leaver and graduate schemes later in the year."
