Executives want provision of outplacement services included in their employment contract

More than a third of executives would ask future employers to provide an outplacement service as part of their contract and three quarters would ask employers for outplacement if they were made redundant.

And only 7% of execs think outplacement services would not be an influencing factor when moving to another job, according to management consultancy Blackswan.

Blackswan's chief executive, Maurice Duffy, said: "Now the bonus pot has run dry, those organisations that take a more holistic approach to attracting and retaining talent will see the benefits in years to come when the economic climate changes and they have assembled a world-class management team to take advantage of more favourable times."

A fifth of executives see personal coaching as the most valuable form of outplacement services, followed by CV reviews (17%) and the objectivity of an outside view (12%).
