Consultancy launches to help public sector staff move into corporate roles

Launching this week on the streets of Westminster, PublicIntoPrivate a new consultancy has been established to give public sector workers help to make the transition into the private sector.

According to the Office for Budget Responsibility, 600,000 public sector roles will be lost over the next four years, 250,000 jobs have already been lost and public sector workers across the country are considering their place in the corporate world.

Company founder Graham Jenner said: "Although there are substantial differences between the sectors and the move can feel daunting, the challenge is not insurmountable.

"It is true that the public and private sectors are different beasts and want different things from their staff. But every public sector worker I know has an incredible base of transferrable skills - many have overcome some of the biggest professional challenges out there.

"The key to success is in knowing how to identify and apply those transferrable skills and market yourself effectively to private sector employers. Do this, and the career of your dreams is a step away."

Combining experience as a recruiting manager in the private sector with insights gained from working with public sector health professionals, Jenner added: "It's an employers' market right now and candidates need to stand out from the crowd. A properly focused CV and application will set you apart from the competition and get you the foot in the door you need.

"Unlike other companies, I work with candidates to identify their unique skills and produce a unique CV to match. I then work with candidates to build their confidence before interview, so they're ready to shine on the day."
