Ben Bengougam is the new vice president of human resources for Europe at Hilton Worldwide

Ben Bengougam, who started his career in hospitality more than 20 years ago, returns to the hotel industry as vice president of human resources for Europe at Hilton Worldwide.

In his new role, Bengougam will oversee human resource strategy for more than 180 hotels, seven brands and 20,000 team members across 30 countries. He will focus on delivering top talent to fuel the company's ambitious growth plans. Hilton Worldwide expects to open more than 20 new hotels across Europe in 2010.

Bengougam joins Hilton Worldwide from retail and dining franchise operator M H Alshaya. Prior to that, he was group HR director for Dixons in the UK. In previous positions Ben has been responsible for leading HR strategies across a broad spectrum of activities and cultures.

Bengougam started his career at Forte hotels in the 1980s where he held various roles from food and beverage service to catering and operations management.
