As companies continue to recover from the major disruption of COVID-19, the next challenge faced is how to retain and reskill talent to counter an increasingly competitive job market. Many organisations face a very different resourcing position than just 12 months ago.

With the war for talent still raging, organisations are now having to become more creative in their approach to internal mobility if they are to meet their talent needs. This is extremely dependent on the sector they operate in and varies from offering employees more short-term gigs and assignments to increasing automation and redeploying people from other parts of the business.

Though there are plenty of initiatives out there to bring more diverse and younger people into the workplace, the Government’s Kickstart scheme just one of many, organisations may still find the workforce is not ready for future roles and could need an overhaul.

This survey hopes to find out what the state of talent mobility in the UK’s leading organisations looks like, in particular where the challenges are and what strategies HR is looking to implement to overcome them.
