Stress

As a nation, we are pretty frazzled. In fact, in 2012 Kenexa research found UK employees are among the most stressed in the world: 35% of us are experiencing an unreasonable level of stress at work.

That’s significantly higher than workers in the United States, Germany, China, Brazil and India.

Research carried out by Group Risk Development (GRiD), the trade body for the group risk industry, found stress to be the number-one health issue for employees, with 21% of employers considering stress and mental health their biggest health risk. Last year, the cost of stress to British business was estimated at a massive £3.7 billion, with more than 13 million employees considered at risk of mental health problems caused by the stress of their jobs.
