LOROL has launched an online platform – a one-stop shop for all employee benefits

London Overground Rail Operations (LOROL) has long offered generous benefits, including free London travel, childcare vouchers, shopping discounts and a final salary pension. “But”, says HR business partner Alison Bell, “none of it was joined up and we didn’t communicate it clearly enough”. As a result, employees didn’t realise how generous the scheme was or appreciate it fully.

To overcome this, LOROL has launched an online platform – a one-stop shop for all employee benefits, which can be accessed anytime from anywhere. As well as giving employees the option to access discounts and book holidays, it is also linked to the employee recognition scheme. LOROL is also introducing annual total reward statements.

Although the new scheme launched only last month, take-up has been pretty impressive, with about 35% of the workforce engaged after only one week. Additionally, Bell says the employee savings have already reached higher levels than they did in a year before the new system was put into practice.
