Employment Tribunals - A Practical Guide
Authors: Isabel Manley and Elaine Heslop
Publisher: The Law Society
Price: £49.95
Rating 4 out of 5
At £49.95 for 395 pages, Employment Tribunals isn't the sort of book even the most diligent HRD would take on holiday for pool-side reading - primarily for fear of losing it. Employment tribunals, for the most part, don't provide for light reading but the book sets out to be a practical guide and does what it says on the tin. It even has a fictitious case documenting the plight of Molly Martin who believes she has been unfairly dismissed because she is pregnant. Don't be put off by the list of cases and statutes at the beginning because the book is, on the whole, very readable - taking you through the tribunal process step by step, with a useful glossary if the jargon proves too much.
