Alternative therapies are becoming more popular as an employee benefit

Fancy an Indian head massage, hypnotherapy session or chakra realignment? Alternative and complementary therapy is becoming a more popular perk in organisations.

According to Laing & Buisson, physiotherapy and other practitioner therapies (including complementary medicine therapies) accounted for 19.4% of total benefits use last year – equating to £63.42 million.

“With the number of people seeking help for everyday aches and pains on the increase, being able to access affordable physiotherapy treatment has never been more important, and these types of plans are highly valued by staff,” says Philip Wood, executive director of sales and marketing at Health Shield.
