Emma Rose, HR director, Kerry Foods

Emma Rose has been the HR director for Kerry Foods since January 2016

Kerry Foods is a leading producer of consumer and customer branded products in the meat, dairy and ready meals categories, in partnership with large multiple retailers and also outlets like Nando’s and Starbucks. Kerry Foods employs approximately 6,500 people across the UK, Ireland and western Europe. The company has an ambitious agenda to grow substantially into new categories and channels in the next five years.

Rose is passionate about unlocking potential in people and business, and also in driving business performance by making work a more human experience. Since joining Kerry Foods Rose has driven significant change in the culture and people agenda for the business by championing the strengths of the existing culture and supporting the development of new capabilities.

This has included work on embedding a new purpose and values across the business, driving engagement programmes to win the hearts and minds of Kerry Foods colleagues, including the multi-award winning Dragon’s Den-style Trailblazers programme, completely reinventing and launching an industry-leading employer brand and social media strategy, and step-changing the capabilities and development of senior leaders across the business. She has also worked with the leadership team to shape the future organisation, making significant cost savings and improving ways of working across the business.

Rose is passionate about the role that business can play in building strong inclusive communities and has led the development of a multi-national long-term partnership between Kerry Group and Special Olympics. This has enabled Kerry employees to engage in fundraising, volunteering, leadership development and engagement opportunities with Special Olympics athletes.

Prior to Kerry Foods Rose was VP global corporate functions at Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) where she supported the group CFO, group CHRO and group legal counsel with their global people agendas. IHG is one of the leading hospitality companies globally with a strong presence in Europe, the US and Asia.

Rose spent 13 years working at Cadbury, and later Kraft Foods. During her time there she worked with teams across the EMEA region in different roles both as a business partner and also in driving the talent and organisation effectiveness agenda. She supported a number of significant change programmes, including the integration of the Adams acquisition by Cadbury and subsequently the integration of Cadbury following the takeover in 2010 by Kraft Foods. She also led the internal engagement and employee volunteering programmes as part of the Cadbury sponsorship of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
