HR Excellence Awards: shortlist for Most People-focused CEO award revealed

Who do employees rate as the best leaders of their organisations? HR magazine reveals the shortlist for the Most People-focused CEO in this year's HR Excellence Awards.

The list, split into private-sector and public-sector leaders, has been developed in conjunction with workplace engagement specialists Best Companies.

The names on our shortlist scored the highest when employees in Best Companies rankings were asked six questions related to leadership, including faith in the leader and the leadership skills of the senior management team. Eligible organisations in the private sector employed 5,000-plus people while those in the public sector combined small, medium and large organisations.

The shortlist for Most People-focused CEO in the private sector, sponsored by Work Group, is:

The shortlist for Most People-focused CEO in the public sector comprises:-

David Bennett, interim chief executive, Monitor - Independent Regulator of NHS Foundation Trusts

Jonathan Godfrey, principal, Hereford Sixth Form College

Robin Hales, chief executive. Sevenoaks District Council

Jack Hegarty, managing director, Wychavon District Council

Detective Superintendent Gary Linton, head ACPO Criminal Records Office
