Call for PR agencies to ditch the duvet day and get fit

A campaign urging the PR industry to ditch the duvet day is being launched by PR agency Cirkle PR.

Agency founder and director Caroline Kinsey says: Duvet days are one of the most popular fringe benefits offered by PR agencies to staff, but I believe it contributes to the industrys already tarnished image of being all about parties and boozing.

Instead of duvet days, Kinsey is offering her staff a days holiday to spend on health and fitness.

Kinsey was recently crowned Britains Fittest Director 2007 by the Daily Telegraph in recognition of her efforts to instil a culture of fitness and wellbeing into her own agency.

All Cirkle employees are offered health and nutrition coaching as well as subsidised circuit classes. Staff are also halfway through the Cirkle Challenge, where employees aim to walk the equivalent of halfway round the world in the half year from 1 January to 30 June by monitoring their steps on a pedometer.
