Recruitment and Employment Confederation launches REC Legal and HR

The Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) has launched a sector group specifically for recruiters in the HR field.

A large number of REC members operate within niche markets such as legal and HR recruitment. With the formation of REC Legal and HR, recruiters operating in this sector will receive services such as bespoke legal advice, specialist lobbying and PR campaigns, and networking meetings that will seek to further their knowledge, reputation and professionalism.
Scott Pendry, policy adviser to REC Legal and HR, said: "Fundamentally, recruitment into the legal and HR sectors has bounced back from the recession. This does not, however, mean that these sectors are in the clear and with this brand new sector group we want to make sure we are on the front foot during this very productive period of change to help firms get the best people."

He also told the first members he was looking forward to welcoming new members to the sector group, saying: "Their quality will help us actively focus on driving our collective vision forward."

The roundtable at which the sector was launched is just the first of many events that the REC Legal and HR Group plans to hold, the aim being to raise awareness within the sector of REC standards and also to work more closely with key stakeholders such as business bodies, the Law Society, legal publications and, of course, REC member's clients
