Quakers launch HR software system to increase efficiency

Faith based not-for-profit organisation the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) has invested in a new HR software system as it looks to increase efficiency.

The new SelectHR solution from Access will replace a series of spreadsheets.

Ric Moore, HR & training manager at the Religious Society of Friends, said: "We currently do not have an HR database, as a result we have limited reporting capability as all our HR information is on a series of spreadsheets so there's a lot of duplication of information.

"We'll be centralising our data while enhancing our reporting capability, we'll be able to view staff turnover, training requirements and absence very easily."

The HR team is moving a lot of the administration burden away from the HR team with the arrival of the new system. "We're implementing the self service option so the updating of basic personal information such as; names, addresses and contact details will be the responsibility of our employees. This time saving will give us the opportunity to focus on more organisation-specific tasks," added Moore.

As well as the core SelectHR system the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) has also invested in the training and development module which manages training requirements as well as online appraisals and the ability for staff to access information on available courses and place requests to attend through the self-service environment.

Moore said: "In addition to centralising our database, and managing our training, SelectHR will be integrated with our payroll solution, so we'll be driving payroll through SelectHR, rather through spreadsheets. Overall we're looking to benefit from time and efficiency in HR."
