Global Radio to offer 500 work experience placements every year

Global Radio has announced it will provide more than 500 work experience places every year in a bid to attract talented staff to the commercial radio industry.

Speaking at Leeds University yesterday, Ashley Tabor, Global founder and group CEO, said the company, which owns stations including Classic FM, Heart and Capital FM would offer work experience, internships and gap year placements as part of its Global Academy.

He added: "I have been trying to find a way to harness the passion for radio among young people and to provide them with encouragement and, importantly, access to the medium. In the coming years the Global Academy will create a supply of real talent to the commercial radio industry."
