Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games: 1,044 jobs announced with 1,044 days to go

Glasgow based recruitment agency Search Consultancy has signed a Tier 2 deal to become the official recruitment agency for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games as the recruitment programme to fill 1,044 jobs begins, with 1,044 days to go.

The UK multi-sector recruitment specialist, headquartered in Glasgow, will be responsible for attracting and recruiting 1,044 people from now until the opening ceremony on 23 July 2014 - equating to a job a day. With jobs advertised locally and via the Glasgow 2014 website at www.glasgow2014.com/jobs, the search for dedicated, skilled and talented individuals to make up the Games workforce will start from today.

Glasgow 2014 chief executive David Grevemberg said: "We have 1,044 days until the Opening Ceremony and I am delighted to announce that Search has officially become part of our Glasgow 2014 Family to recruit 1,044 jobs for the Organising Committee.

"Search's ethos is founded on finding the best of Scottish talent across a range of sectors, and as we will be recruiting so many people in a short period of time we need that all-important local knowledge to deliver the skilled workforce to stage an outstanding Games in three years' time.

"It goes without saying that Search will help us deliver a huge economic boost to Glasgow and Scotland in recruiting these 1,044 jobs, and leave a lasting and positive legacy for the Scottish workforce."
