Channel 4 opens applications for its first ever graduate scheme

Channel 4 has launched its first ever graduate programme, in search of future leaders of industry.

The Channel 4 Graduate Programme, which will offer graduate students hands on experience at the centre of the organisation whilst bolstering their CV with a Skillset Creative Media Leadership MA.

The pilot programme will open for applicants in July 2012.

Three successful applicants will work within either the channel's marketing and communications department or audience technologies ad insight department for 20 months, gaining experience within these business areas as well as a wider view of Channel 4 and the UK media industry.

Successful applicants will have the opportunity to earn a post graduate qualification from Skillset in Creative Media Leadership, this will include modules in media strategy and intellectual property and monetisation. To fulfil the MA, participants will complete a live Channel 4 project within their department.

Each graduate will be assigned a member of the Channel 4 executive team as a mentor who will guide them through the programme and further development their leadership qualities.

Coaching will also be provided by Rosie Ranganathan, head of HR.

The Graduate Programme compliments Channel 4's existing schemes, which include apprenticeships, internships, the production trainee scheme and the investigative journalism scheme.
