Catholic Agency for Overseas Development launches online recruitment platform

The Catholic Agency for Overseas Development (CAFOD) has launched an online recruitment and talent management platform to save 1,000 hours of HR administration every year.

The humanitarian organisation is working with Bond Talent to implement the strategy. The plan is to automate the transfer of information to and from job boards and between internal HR systems.

Coomy Ogbewele, HR information manager at CAFOD, said: "A large amount of our recruitment is run through manual processes which are intrinsically time-consuming. We are spending as much as 11 hours setting up each vacancy and contacting candidates. We often spend another two to three hours sifting through the 30 to 40 applications we would receive for each vacancy."

He said: "We will now be able to advertise a position, manage the applications, create a shortlist, hire and then process the successful candidates directly through our HR system, all without any duplication of data."
